October 28th – Hiking in Ala-Archa gorge
After a short break, we made another visit to our children from the Voenno-Antonovsky orphanage.
On Saturday, October 28th, we went on to “Ak-Say Trekking Routes” – a short hiking program of different complexity we have arranged at the territory of Ala-Archa National Park.
The weather was wonderful and the mood of the children was even better. Leaving the city early in the morning we went to discover one more corner of our amazing Kyrgyzstan.
For this journey we placed more emphasis on teamwork. There in the mountains the saying that “for one that is missing there’s no spoiling a wedding” does not work. We taught children that if we are one team we must overcome all difficulties together. Hiking up hills was not an easy task for all of us, but thanks them for understanding that we must work together as one and for their helping the weak and those lagging behind. We witnessed the goodwill of the boys always promptly to help the girls and carry their things.
Sadly, daylight is not sufficient enough at this time of the season, so we didn’t manage to cover the entire route up to the waterfall and decided to go back down. Shortly after we began descending, we stopped for a picnic in a cozy glade near the Sharkyratma River, had a wonderful lunch and enjoyed the scenery of the snow peaks surrounding the gorge. But, the fact that we did not reach the waterfall incited the children even more to return to this place, and to continue discovering more and more horizons of our country.
