Today, after the large-scale reconstruction, the crossing point “Ak-Jol” has been opened at the Kyrgyz-Kazakh border. The Prime-minister Ulukbek Maripov took part in this event. He greeted everybody who came and congratulated with restarting the work of the crossing point. Reconstruction of the regime object costs 305 million Soms. 225 millions for the reconstruction and installation works, 80 millions for technical equipment and furniture.
Before the reconstruction, throughput capacity of the crossing point was 10 000 people and 1500 vehicles. Currently, it is expected, that there will be up to 35 000 people and 5000 vehicles to be able to cross during high season.
After the moment when Ulukbek Maripov cut the red ribbon, he went to check all part of the new object. Then, in presence of the customs staff of both countries, subcontractors and journalists there was a meeting with the leader of the government of Kazakhstan Askar Mamin.
“The work on the crossing point was operated to improve conditions of the comfortable crossing for people. There were set additional cabins. We are expecting that due to the epidemiological situation in many counties of the world, touristic stream between our countries will rise” – said Ulukbek Maripov.
One of the biggest crossing point between Kyrgyzstan and Kazakhstan “Ak-Jol” was closed for reconstruction in January 2020. There were funds used from the governmental budget.
