Program<\/strong>
\nDay 0. Arrival in Pyatigorsk, check and selection of equipment.<\/strong>
\nWe recommend that you arrive in Pyatigorsk the day before your trip to the mountains, so that you have time to buy or rent the necessary equipment, personal products and medicines and meet with the manager. Our manager will meet you at the rental at the agreed time, check your equipment and help you to choose the necessary equipment. On request, the manager will help you with hotel and transfer reservations.
\nDay 1. Arrival in Terskol, accommodation in hotel, meeting with guide and group.<\/strong>
\nWe meet in Pyatigorsk near the rental shop in the morning of the first day of the program at 10:00. You take the necessary equipment, at 11:00 we leave for Terskol village (2100 m.). Our employee will escort you to the hotel, on the way will answer all your questions. On the way we will stop for lunch and at the supermarket, where you can buy everything you need. At 16:00 we arrive at the hotel and check in. After check-in (2-3 people per room) you meet with the group guide at the hotel, he will give you a brief briefing. Next, free time until dinner. For those who didn’t have time to check or take equipment, the guides will check the equipment and help you to get the missing equipment in the rentals of Terskol village. At 20:00 meeting of all program participants in the hotel lobby, dinner in the cafe.
\nDay 2. Acclimatization trek to Cheget (3050m)<\/strong>
\nBreakfast at the hotel or cafe. After breakfast we go to the first acclimatization – we climb Cheget mountain (4 hours, height 3050m, upper station of the cable car). Before the start everyone will get a snack, you will take only water, thermos and warm things in a small backpack. After the ascent we have a rest and drink tea on the mountain, with a view of Elbrus, the mountains of the Main Caucasus Range and the Baksan Gorge. We go back down by cable car. Back to the hotel. Rest and free time. Dinner in a cafe.
\nDay 3. Acclimatization walk to the waterfall Maiden Spits and to the Observatory.(3050\u043c)<\/strong>
\nBreakfast at the hotel or cafe. Second acclimatization walk. We climb up to the waterfall Devichiye Kosy (3 hours, height 2700m), and then up to the observatory located on the peak Terskol (1,5 hours, 3050m). Those who wish will have an opportunity to bathe in the invigorating font at the waterfall. Before going out everyone will get a snack, you will take only water, thermos and warm things in a small backpack. Tea and snack with a view of Elbrus and Terskolak gorge. After returning to the hotel rest, pack backpacks, get ready to move to the shelter on the slope of Elbrus. Dinner in a cafe.
\nDay 4. Ascent by cable car, check-in to the shelter. (3850 \u043c).<\/strong>
\nBreakfast at the hotel or cafe. Drive to the cable car on the Azau glade, get on the cable car. Take the cable car to the upper station Garabashi (3850m). You need to be ready to walk with backpacks a short distance to the shelter (10 minutes). Accommodation in the mountain shelter. Tea and snack. Walk up the snowy slope. Class on the technique of walking in crampons, self-stopping with the help of ice axe on the snow slope, rest. Dinner in the evening, in the high mountain zone meals are prepared by a cook.
\nDay 5. Acclimatization. (4950\u043c).<\/strong>
\nWe wake up early (4-5 am), the time depends on the dawn. Breakfast in the shelter, going out for acclimatization. Today we have to climb to the height of 4850-5050 meters, to reach the “Ratrak” or the beginning of the “Kosaya shelf”, depending on weather conditions. Those who could not climb to this height are not allowed to climb Elbrus. During the ascent we learn to walk in bundles, practice the technique of moving along the fix ropes. The ascent takes 5 – 6 hours, the descent to the camp – about 1,5 – 2 hours. After descent to the shelter, snack and tea, rest. Dinner in the evening.
\nDay 6. Rest day, preparation for climbing.<\/strong>
\nRest day before the ascent. Breakfast. Rest and preparation for the climbing, guides help you to check everything, collect everything you need, check your well-being. Early dinner and sleep (at 17:00) in order to have time to sleep until the evening.
\nDay 7. Climbing to the summit (5642m). Descent to the shelter.<\/strong>
\nWe wake up in the evening, drink tea, 1.5 hours for packing and eating. We put on all the equipment (crampons, harnesses, headlamps, helmets) and go out for climbing. If the group goes by snowcat, the start time is from 01:00 to 03:00 at night. If the group goes on foot, the start is from 22:00 to midnight, depending on the time of year and the number of people in the group. We go very slowly, so as not to lose our breath and save our strength. Ascent on foot usually takes 8-10 hours, descent 3-4 more. Ascent with a snowcat (is not included in the price) takes 5 hours, down 2.5 hours.
\nUsually on the day of ascent we go down to the shelter, pack up, take a cable car down to the Azau glade, from where a transfer picks us up. Arrival in Pyatigorsk in the evening.
\nDay 8. Descent to Terskol. Return to Pyatigorsk.<\/strong>
\nWake up early. Breakfast. We pack our things and take the cable car down to Azau glade. Stop in Terskol, if there is a need to return the equipment to the rental. Transfer to Pyatigorsk. Arrival in Pyatigorsk in the afternoon, awarding climbing certificates! You return the rental equipment. We say goodbye!
\nIn case the reserve days will not be used, the program will be finished 1 or 2 days earlier, you can fly home earlier or walk around the towns of KMV: Pyatigorsk, Kislovodsk, Zheleznovodsk and Essentuki, visit mineral baths, climb Mount Beshtau, try rockclimbing in spring, summer and autumn or go skiing and snowboarding and ice climbing in winter.
