Arrive in Bishkek, meet your guide, and set off toward the mountains that have shaped nomadic life for centuries.
Reach the alpine lake of Song-Kol and settle into a yurt camp among herder families on the high pastures.
Ride horses across open jailoo and follow old caravan trails through the Silk Road highlands.
Meet the berkutchi who still hunt with golden eagles, then descend to the shores of Issyk-Kul.

The high pastures are at their greenest from June to early September, when yurt camps are open and the weather is mild. July and August are the warmest and most reliable months.
Expect warm days (20–28°C) and cool mountain nights that can drop near freezing at Song-Kol. Bring layers even in summer.
Warm layers, a windproof jacket, sturdy walking shoes, sun protection, a refillable water bottle, and a power bank for off-grid days.
The local currency is the Kyrgyz som (KGS). Carry some cash for remote areas; cards work in Bishkek and larger towns but rarely in the mountains.
Citizens of most countries enjoy 60 days visa-free entry. A passport valid for six months and basic travel insurance are recommended.
