Ce trek est une excellente option pour les randonneurs ayant une expérience modérée, une bonne condition physique et une bonne santé.
Ni trop difficile ni trop longue, la première partie du parcours se déroule dans les pittoresques contreforts du Pamir – la gorge de Kozho-Kelen et la vallée d'Alay – ce qui permet une acclimatation optimale avant la seconde partie. Lors de cette dernière, nous grimperons jusqu’à une altitude de 5130 mètres, au Pic Yukhin, dans la région majestueuse du Pic Lénine – un spectacle colossal et une véritable source d’énergie des montagnes, très prisée des alpinistes du monde entier ! Vous serez logé dans des camps de base confortables tout au long du parcours, tout en explorant les environs et en atteignant des hauteurs impressionnantes.
Situé dans les Pamirs, à la frontière entre le Kirghizistan et le Tadjikistan, le Pic Lénine est l’un des cinq sommets de plus de 7000 mètres de l’ex-Union soviétique. Avec ses 7134 mètres, il est le deuxième plus haut sommet des montagnes du Pamir après le Pic du Communisme (7495 m). Au Kirghizistan, on trouve également d’autres sommets de plus de 7000 mètres tels que le Pic Khan-Tengri (7010 m) et le Pic Pobeda (7439 m) dans le Tien Shan. Gravir ces cinq sommets vous place parmi l’élite des grimpeurs russes, les « Léopards des Neiges ». Le Pic Lénine est le plus accessible des sept mille mètres : on peut accéder au pied au camp de base en voiture, la route étant relativement bonne.
