Highlights:
Day 1. Bishkek city – Cholpon Ata town. (280 km / 4 hours)
In the morning meeting in place agreed before hand and start the rip around Issyk Kul. Firstly, one hour drive to Burana Tower (old minaret) near Tokmok city.
That minaret was constructed in Balasagun town; one of the capitals of Karakhanid State existed in 11-12 centuries AD.
Optionally: At the area around the tower it is possible to organize horse riding games. Lunch en route.
After that we drive to the Issyk Kul Lake, the second largest alpine lake in the world after Lake Titicaca in South America.
Arrival to Cholpon Ata town where we have several things to do:
1) Open air Petroglyphs site.
2) Historical museum.
Optionally: cruise in a local boat club.
After excursions, drive to the resort area on the shore of Issyk Kul lake.
Overnight in the hotel.
Day 2. Cholpon Ata town – Karakol town. (150 km / 2,5 hours)
In the morning, after breakfast, we drive to Karakol town situated in the east of the lake area.
On the way visiting the museum of N. M. Przhevalski, the outstanding Russian explorer of Asian continent.
Then sightseeing tour in the town. Visit Dungan mosque, a unique construction in Chinese style, but serving as a mosque.
Also you will see an old Orthodox Cathedral (19 C) made of wood.
Optionally: it’s possible to arrange dinner in Uigur/Dungan family with cooking master class.
Overnight in a hotel of Karakol.
Day 3. Karakol town – Djety Oguz gorge – Kochkor village. (260 km / 4-5 hours)
After breakfast leave Karakol town to the south shore of Issyk Kul lake and reach Djety Oguz Gorge first.
Here we have short hiking to admire the scenery of the gorge from bird eye’s view.
After walking continue our trip along the southern shore of the Issyk Kul Lake. En route we stop by the “Skazka” canyon (Fairy tale) for another spectacular hike.
Later drive further via Bokonbaev and Kyzyl Tuu villages till we reach Kochkor village that is already different province.
Optionally: Golden Eagle hunting demonstration in Bokonbaev village.
Arrival to Kochkor village, where we get accommodated in the local family guest house. Dinner and free time to relax.
Day 4. Kochkor village – Bishkek city. (200 km / 3 hours)
In the morning, firstly we head to the local women cooperation that produce felt and carpers from felt. Visit famous souvenir shop-museum and talk to local ladies to understand the lifestyle and principles of the cooperation.
Optionally: felt producing demonstration and carpet making technology.
After all visits our way to Bishkek goes back via Kuvaky pass, Boom gorge and Chui province.
Upon arrival to Bishkek accommodation in a hotel agreed beforehand.
