Itinerary

Day 1: Bishkek City – Karkara Base Camp

Distance: 480 km
Travel Time: 7-8 hours
Meals: Lunch and Dinner

08:00 – Gathering at the Ak-Sai Travel main office (Ibraimova 113/2).

08:15 – Briefing with the guide. Overview of the route, travel time, important stops, and safety rules.

08:30 – Departure. Journey through Boom Gorge along the northern shore of Issyk-Kul Lake to the Charkuduk area. Lunch at a café en route.

Charkuduk is located on the border with Kazakhstan, so you will need to present a border pass upon entry. Accommodation in the Karkara tent camp (2200 m). Dinner and overnight stay at the camp.

Day 2: Radial Walk Around the Charkuduk Area

Distance: 10 km
Travel Time: 4-5 hours
Meals: Full board

A pleasant walk and ascent through an unnamed gorge to the Chymyn-Sai Pass (2670 m). The gorge is covered with juniper and Tien Shan fir forests. Enjoy the fresh air and breathtaking views of the Karkara Gorge from the pass.

Picnic with lunch boxes or lunch at the camp. After lunch, take a walk through the gorge where our annual Tien Shan Trail Race marathon takes place. The gorge along the Karkara River is dotted with green meadows, unusual mountain formations, and abundant Tien Shan fir forests.

Dinner and overnight at Karkara Base Camp.

Day 3: Karkara Base Camp – Bishkek

Distance: 480 km
Travel Time: 7-8 hours
Meals: Breakfast and Lunch

09:00 – Breakfast at the camp. Departure back with a stop for lunch at a café in Cholpon-Ata. Visit the open-air petroglyphs museum (Saks era, 8-3 centuries BC) with a picturesque view of the lake. Return to Bishkek by evening.
