State Historical Museum has been opened, Karakol town, visa free in Tajikistan – News 2022.
Dear friends,
Ak-Sai Travel continues operation and enters 2022 with fresh vitality. We are in expectation of the next tourist season, preparing for new challenges and discoveries. Kyrgyzstan is open to entry; the visa-free regime has remained unchanged since the days before COVID-19. The situation in the country is stable, no restrictions are imposed on normal life, quarantine is not applied to arriving passengers. The PCR-test is still required to enter the country even with a vaccination certificate, but we think this is a temporary measure that will be lifted before the start of the tourist season.
Generally speaking, our doors are open to everyone. In the meanwhile, I would like to share some interesting news that took place recently:
- We are pleased to announce that our State Historical Museum in Bishkek has reopened after 5 years of renovation work. A new modern exhibition is already waiting for everyone on hourly-based excursions, and an audio guide with a choice of language will allow you to study the history of Kyrgyzstan in whatever language you speak.
- Our wonderful Karakol town (eastern part of the Lake Issyk Kul) became the cultural capital of the CIS in 2022. According to the information department of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic, Karakol took over after the city of Dushanbe (the capital of the Republic of Tajikistan), and now it is expected to hold a huge number of cultural and humanitarian events aimed at discover the potential of the city, drawing attention to its rich heritage.
- We also want to share a good news from the neighbor Tajikistan. Starting from the new year (January 1st, 2022), citizens of another 52 countries can cross the state border of Tajikistan without a visa. This is a great news in the post-Covid time that gives additional advantages to the Central Asian region and opens up even more possibilities for combining tours to several countries.
