Mount Everest. Or how mountaineers from Kyrgyzstan had conquered the top of our planet.
To this date more than 4,000 climbers from around the world had already reached the highest point on earth – Mt. Everest . But in this place craved by many, only one representative of Kyrgyzstan has been lucky to be – the mountaineer Dmitry Grekov.
This ascent has been the most successful of all attempts made by our countrymen to leave their mark in the history of ascensions at the Himalayas. Previous attempts have been made while joining international teams, yet those where done without any help from the government of Kyrgyzstan.From the time when Kyrgyzstan became independent still does not exist a supported national mountaineering team in this country, capable to arrange an equipped expedition aiming at the conquest of one of the 13 eight-thousanders. And all this considering the fact that Kyrgyzstan is a purely mountain country, where there are experienced climbers for which that goal is absolutely within reach.
