Journey to the Kel Suu lake

Fascinating trip to the secret of Kyrgyzstan - Kel Suu lake.

This tour will allow to see a unique lake hidden from eyes at the south part of Naryn valley, really close to the border with China. If you are looking for a trip to the middle of nowhere and explore the virgin nature in Kyrgyzstan, that’s your trip of choice!

Itinerary

Day 1.
Distance: 500 km
Time of travel: 7-8 hours
Meal: lunch and dinner

07:00 – Meeting near Ak-Sai Travel office (Ibraimov 113/2)
07:15 – Briefing. Guide will provide useful information for the travel, how much time it will take, important stops on the way and safety code.
07:30 – Departure. The way goes via Boom canyon, Kuvaky pass, via Kochkor village and Naryn town.
13:00 – Lunch en route.
14:00 – Continue our way via Kyndy Pass (3413 m) to Ak-Sai valley. Get through the border zone check-point, where we show special documents.
20:00 – Arrival to the tent/yurt camp. Dinner and overnight.

Day 2.
Distance: 16 км
Time of travel: 4-5 hours
Meal: full board

09:00 – Breakfast
10:00 – Briefing. Info about hike.
10:15 – Hiking*** to the Lake Kel Suu – hidden secret of Kyrgyzstan at the altitude of 3500 m asl. Lunch picnic.
17:00 – Return back to the camp.
19:00 – Dinner and overnight.

Day 3.
Distance: 500 km
Time of travel: 7-8 hours
Meal: breakfast and lunch

09:00 – Breakfast. Group photo and transfer back to Bishkek.
14:00 – En route stop at Kochkor souvenir shop-museum. This is a cooperation of women that produce felt carpets and other small souvenirs. Lunch in Kochkor village.
19:00 – Arrival to Bishkek city.

*** Hiking from the camp to Kel Suu lake with visit to the Cave.
Total distance of the hiking 8 km one way, elevation +250 m. Average time of hiking 2-3 hours. The Cave is located on the way to the lake. Recommended time of departure from the camp – 9 am. Lunch on the lake around 1-2 pm, return back to the camp – 4-5 pm.
