On the trace of the Great Silk Road pilgrims (Osh, Uzgen)

Description

This tour is a great chance to visit the southern capital, to see the famous sacred Sulaiman Mointain, to visit a historical museum located on this mountain and finally see the Babur’s Mosque.

Itinerary

Day 1. Bishkek city. Flight to Osh city.

We pick you up in the city of Bishkek (can be a hotel, a guest house or any other address) and head to the airport for flight to Osh city (early morning daily flight around 7-8 am).
Short flight (40 minutes) and land in Osh. Meet with a local team to spend wonderful day in the south capital of Kyrgyzstan.
City tour in Osh takes about 4 hours. We visit Suleiman Mountain, one of the main shrines of the Islamic world in Central Asia. On the mount visit historical museum, located in the biggest cave. After excursion in the museum follow the way of all pilgrims up to the top of the hill and visit a little mosque of Babur, The Great Mogols Dynasty founder, and take a bird eye’s view of the city.
The way down from the hill won’t take too much time. After excursion to the Sulaiman Too we have 1 hour for lunch (not included).
After lunch visit local bazaar (Closed on Monday). A short walk along the colorful rows of Golden market, and watching blacksmiths work at their workshops. After Osh market transfer to the main square to see governmental buildings and famous Lenin monument. Walk around and watch local lifestyle (2 hours).
Transfer to the hotel for accommodation. Dinner is not included.
Overnight.

Day 2. Osh city – Uzgen town – Osh city (120 km / 2 hours). Flight to Bishkek city.

Breakfast at the hotel (included). Check out. At 10.00 am transfer to Uzgen town that situated 60 km far from Osh city.
Uzgen was one of the capitals of Karakhanid State, occupied vast areas in Central Asia in 10-12 centuries AD.
Excursion to the ancient minaret and mausoleums in Uzgen town. Local bazaar is also interesting object (closed on Monday). Duration – 2-3 hours.
Lunch is not included, but we give time and place to eat (1 hour).
Return to Osh city around 3 PM and transfer to airport to catch a flight to Bishkek city.
Daily flights operates from 5 to 11 PM. Meeting at the airport and transfer to Bishkek city to the address agreed beforehand.

Additional Info

Useful things to take with you depends on the season:

1. Light walking shoes (slip resistant) for city tour.
2. A flask for water.
3. Sunglasses.
4. Photo camera.
5. A smaller backpack.
6. Sun-screen cream (30 or higher).
7. Hat (remember – the sun could be violent).
8. Warm clothes.
9. Umbrella
