Visa-free travel

Citizens of more than 60 countries can enter Kyrgyzstan without a visa for up to 60 days.

This list includes:

European Union countries

United Kingdom

United States, Canada, Australia

Japan, South Korea

CIS countries

Citizens of other countries can apply for an e-visa. It can be obtained online through the official portal of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic. The validity period of the visa depends on the purpose of the trip (tourism, business visits, etc.).

For citizens of the Russian Federation

According to Decree of the Government of the Russian Federation No. 575 of September 21, 2005 and the Law of the Kyrgyz Republic “On External Migration” (as amended on November 21, 2002, No. 153 and August 6, 2005, No. 125):

Citizens of the Russian Federation and the Kyrgyz Republic may freely cross the border without a visa.

Not only foreign passports are valid for entry, but also domestic documents:
- For Russian citizens — Russian passport, birth certificate (for children under 14);
- For citizens of the Kyrgyz Republic — a new-style ID card, a 1994 passport without a foreign travel page, or a birth certificate (for those under 16 years of age).

Upon entering Kyrgyzstan, Russian citizens may stay without registration for up to 30 days.
If staying for more than 30 days, registration with the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the Kyrgyz Republic is required.
