Build Real 6000 m Experience on the Classic Lenin Route

Razdelnaya Peak (6148 m) is located on the border of Kyrgyzstan and Tajikistan in the Pamir Mountains and forms part of the classic route to Lenin Peak (7134 m).

For many climbers, Razdelnaya is one of the best ways to gain real experience above 6000 m before committing to a full 7000 m expedition. It offers a powerful combination of high-altitude acclimatization, glacier travel, fixed rope sections, and summit movement in a serious alpine environment — without the full scale of a 7000 m summit push.

This makes it an ideal expedition for climbers who want to test themselves at altitude, sharpen their movement on snow and ice, and prepare for bigger objectives with the support of Ak-Sai Travel’s established camp infrastructure.

The Route & High-Altitude Progression

The expedition begins at Achyk-Tash Base Camp (3600 m), the main hub for climbs on the north side of Lenin Peak.

The route progresses through a classic acclimatization sequence:

  • Base Camp — 3600 m
  • Camp 1 — 4400 m
  • Camp 2 — 5300 m
  • Camp 3 / Razdelnaya Peak — 6148 m

The climb includes:

  • acclimatization hikes around Base Camp
  • glacier training and rope-team practice
  • a trek to Camp 1
  • movement on crampons and fixed ropes above Camp 1
  • ascent through crevassed glacier terrain to Camp 2
  • summit push to the broad dome of Razdelnaya Peak

Because the route follows the classic Lenin Peak line, climbers gain valuable experience on exactly the type of terrain they will encounter on larger Pamir expeditions.

Why Climbers Choose Razdelnaya Peak

Razdelnaya Peak is especially valuable for climbers who want more than just a trek or training climb.

It is often chosen by those who want to:

  • prepare for Lenin Peak or another 7000 m objective
  • gain experience moving in rope teams on glaciated terrain
  • practice crampon technique, fixed-rope movement, and crevasse safety
  • spend time above 6000 m in a structured expedition environment
  • build confidence before attempting a more demanding summit

This is not just a training trip — it is a real high-altitude ascent with strong progression value.

Experience the Pamirs

The expedition combines serious mountain training with the dramatic landscapes of the northern Pamirs.

Along the way, climbers experience:

  • the alpine meadows and open valleys of Achyk-Tash
  • views across the Alay Valley
  • glacier travel beneath Lenin Peak
  • one of the best acclimatization environments in Central Asia

With Base Camp comfort below and real altitude above, Razdelnaya offers a rare balance of support and challenge.

Who This Expedition Is For

This expedition is best suited for climbers who:

  • want to prepare for their first 7000 m expedition
  • already have basic crampon and ice axe experience
  • want to improve rope-team movement and glacier skills
  • are looking for a serious climb above 6000 m
  • prefer a structured guided program with progressive acclimatization

Razdelnaya Peak is one of the most effective stepping-stone expeditions in the Pamirs for climbers building toward bigger high-altitude goals.
