Kyrgyzstan is an amazing country in the heart of Central Asia, known for its pristine mountains, vast pastures, crystal-clear lakes, and rich nomadic culture. This tour offers you not only a chance to explore stunning landscapes but also to immerse yourself in ancient traditions, trace the path of the Great Silk Road, and uncover hidden treasures of remote regions seldom visited by travelers.
Over 10 days, you will travel from the bustling streets of Bishkek to the high-altitude alpine lakes of Song-Kol and Kel-Suu, wander through enchanting canyons, meet skilled craftsmen, visit local nomads, and experience the lifestyle that has endured for centuries.
Day 1. Manas airport – Bishkek city (30 km / 40 mins)
Meet your guide at Manas International Airport and transfer to the city. Hotel check in at 2 pm (early check in is not included).
Explore Bishkek’s highlights including the Manas Monument, Kurmanjan Datka Statue, Oak Park, Opera and Ballet Theatre, and Victory Square. End your day with shopping for souvenirs at the central department store (ZUM).
Day 2. Bishkek city – Chon-Kemin valley (170 km / 3 hours)
After breakfast, we drive to Chon-Kemin valley, stopping at the UNESCO-listed Burana tower and its fascinating collection of ancient stone balbals. Optionally, enjoy horseback riding games nearby.
Continue driving to Chon-Kemin. Upon arrival, get accommodated in the guest house “Ashu” and enjoy dinner.
Optionally:
– Walking around the village or to panoramic view.
– Renting horses and ride up to the closest mountains (extra cost).
– Swimming in the pool (extra cost).
Day 3. Chon-Kemin valley – Karakol city (305 km/ 5-6 hours)
After breakfast, journey along the northern shore of Lake Issyk-Kul, the second-largest alpine lake in the world. On the way, visit the open-air Petroglyph Museum featuring ancient rock carvings dating back over two millennia. Upon arrival in Karakol, explore the unique Dungan Mosque, built entirely without a single nail, the Russian Orthodox Church and the Przhevalsky Memorial Complex.
Overnight stay at a hotel.
Day 4. Karakol city – Jeti-Oguz gorge – Svetlaya Polyana – South shore of lake Issyk-Kul (185 km / 4-5 hours)
After breakfast, we drive along the south shore of Lake Issyk-Kul, discover the striking red rock formations “Seven Bulls” and “Broken Heart” in Jeti-Oguz gorge. After the walk, we take the direction of the village of Svetlaya Polyana for a visit to a «Komuz» maker and we will also taste herbal tea with honey from our home apiary. Lunch here.
Further drive along the south shore of Lake Issyk-Kul, with another stop at Skazka (Fairytale) canyon before arriving at a guesthouse/yurt camp. Dinner and overnight.
Day 5. South shore of lake Issyk-Kul – Kyzyl-Tuu village – Song-Kol lake (250 km / 5-6 hours)
After breakfast, drive to the village of Kyzyl Tuu. There we will meet craftsmen who produce yurt frames and demonstrate the tradition of installation.
Drive over the scenic Kalmak-Ashuu Pass to Song-Kol, an alpine lake situated at an elevation of 3,016 meters and surrounded by summer pastures.
Optionally: horse riding, horseback riding games.
Accommodation in a cozy yurt camp where you will experience the authentic nomadic way of life. Dinner and overnight.
Day 6. Song-Kol lake – Naryn city (150 km / 3-4 hours)
After breakfast in the yurt camp, we drive to the most mountainous province in Kyrgyzstan – Naryn province via the Moldo-Ashuu pass (3200 m). Naryn is known for some of the best meat and traditional Kyrgyz dishes in the country.
Upon arrival, enjoy some additional visits, including the Naryn Blue Mosque, the Fine Art Gallery, the city square with the Usubaliev statue, and the History Museum.
Overnight in the hotel.
Day 7. Naryn city – Kel-Suu lake (150 km / 5-6 hours)
After breakfast, start driving towards to the next secret of Kyrgyzstan – Kel-Suu lake, stretching over 10 kilometers through a dramatic gorge near the Chinese border.
Arrival to Kel-Suu in the late afternoon. Accommodation at a yurt camp. Lunch. Some free time in the evening to explore the area.
Dinner and overnight in tent/yurt camp.
Kel Suu means “incoming water” in Kyrgyz, and indeed, sometimes the lake disappears, flowing into underground caves and grottoes, so please be aware that not everybody has the chance to see the lake.
Day 8. Kel-Suu lake – Naryn city (on foot 8 km / 2-3 hours one way) (drive 150 km / 5-6 hours)
After breakfast at the tent/yurt camp, we will explore the secret of Kyrgyzstan – Lake Kel-Suu.
From the camp to the lake you can walk or drive up as it takes about 2-3 hours on foot (special vehicle could be provided). Level of difficulty only prescribed by the altitude (3200-3300 m asl), walking terrain is not challenging, but you need proper hiking boots. Spend time in the area, have lunch boxes on the shore and enjoy your time exploring this treasure.
In the late afternoon we load our belongings into the car and continue the way to Naryn city. Late evening arrival to Naryn and get accommodated at the hotel.
Day 9. Naryn city – Bishkek city (350 km / 5 hours)
After breakfast explore the area. Walk around to discover the nature around Naryn city and drive back to Bishkek city. En route stop in Kochkor village and visit a local women cooperation where ladies produce felt and different items from it.
Optionally: watch felt producing demonstration.
Arrival to Bishkek, check in into the hotel.
Optionally: folklore show during dinner (dinner not included).
Overnight at a hotel.
Day 10. Bishkek city – Manas airport (30 km / 40 mins)
After breakfast at the hotel, transfer to Manas International Airport for your flight.

You can take all necessary things. Please take into consideration that in summertime the temperature in Bishkek city reaches up to 40 °C and in the mountains the temperature decreases to -5 °C. Be prepared for unexpected changes of the weather.
